The steps to implement the project:
The professional press project began through the training workshop for school press program organized by the Centre For Academic Cooperation in the United States and by (Northwestern University) In the State of Kuwait during the month of October, it involved 10 educators from various government and private schools as well as the presence of a group of media professionals and journalists of information, and we had the privilege to attend the Omani delegation headed by Prof. Issa Bin Khalfan Deputy Director of IT section at the Ministry of education in Oman and the journalist Amal Aljohoreya press consultant at the Times newspaper, and also the presence of school teachers and a student from Oman to share their experience with us.
This experience is the first of its kind in the Middle East within the global program of educational resources network (iEARN) and the main goal as we mentioned earlier is to develop the skills of critical thinking and analysis skills of communication and journalism as well as the use of technology in education.
Project members gained during the training workshop the basics of high school journalism education program and how to be an efficient reporter and also how to create a blog on the website.
The visit of the delegation of Oman and the US delegation at Maria Alqobtia High School:

On the 4th of November 2010 School Principal Muna Haider and school teachers received both the Omani and the US delegation. They have visited our school departments and attended a workshop, some classes and labs.
The visit ended with a souvenir presented by our school principal Muna Haidar to our guests. It was such a lovely and interesting visit.

Special thanks to the Omani delegation for their help, support and guidance through this project, we will never forget journalist Amal Aljahory for providing essential documents and valuable information to start easily this great project.
Execute the project at school:
The Committee has been established it consists of future journalists; the objectives were clarified and they have a global idea of the main task during this year.
Our students start gathering information, executed some interviews in Arabic, English and French language indoor, wrote some articles in both language Arabic and English.
On Wednesday 28th of December, journalist Saadiah Mufareh and journalist Amal Alrandy visited our humble school and we set a meeting with our principal and future students to discuss the press matters and how to plan and execute this project.
It was an effective and useful visit both for students and teachers, we presented a file and a CD that contains all of the achievement that our young journalists achieve, but we expect more excellent work next semester for a reason that this semester students were very busy with exams and lack of time but they did a great job for now and we hope for the best next year.
